Voyager of the Seas first cruise ship to call at Falmouth port
The first cruise ship to call at the newly opened Falmouth port is Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas which is homeported in New Orleans. Other big cruise ships that are scheduled to call at the historic port are the Voyager's twin vessel Allure of the Seas and the Oasis of the Seas, the smaller Navigator of the Seas, which are homeported at Port Everglades, and the Freedom of the Seas, which is homeported at Port Canaveral.
With the Caribbean being the No.1 cruise destination, new ports are particularly exciting for regular Caribbean cruise tourists. The historic Falmouth port was opened on Thursday and the arrival of the Voyager of the Seas was celebrated by thousands of Jamaicans who are hoping that the big cruise ships will bring great benefits to the local economy. Falmouth's attraction are it's Georgian-style architecture and the 80 sugar estates nearby.
