Bodrum Airport information
Bodrum Airport, also known as Milas-Bodrum Airport, is one of the busiest airports which is based in the Aegean region in Turkey and is located between Bodrum and Milas (which is the second largest town of Mugla city). The airport serves over 2 million passengers per year, and is especially busy during the summer as Bodrum is a holiday destination and most flights arrive from European cities.
The airport was opened to international flights only in 1997. The reason why the airport was given the name of two towns is because it was built in between two locations and there were concerns on which name should be given to the airport. Both locations have different cultural and historical values which attracts the attention of visitors from all over the world.
