About Alghero airport
Alghero airport, also known as Alghero-Fertilia airport, is situated North of the city of Alghero. It is open to both national and international scheduled traffic with an annual capacity of approximately 3,500,000 passengers and is equipped with a meteorological observatory. The airport was opened in March 1938 as a military airport during the Second World War and became a passenger terminal in 1971. In 2012, it was the twenty-second airport in Italy in terms of passenger numbers. Several airlines such as Ryanair and Meridiana Fly connect the airport with domestic and European destinations.
