Tips to find your car

Here at ParkVia, we aim to make parking as simple as possible. Pre-booking your parking through our services is quick and easy, and means you have a guaranteed space waiting for you when you arrive – it's simple and stress-free.

Often however, it's when you return that things can get a bit complicated: "Was it the 3rd or 4th floor I parked on?", "Did I leave the car undercover or not?" "P1 or P2?". It happens to all of us, forgetting where you put your car, so here are a few helpful tips from ParkVia for next time!

  • Landmarks
  • Look out for distinctive land marks around the area where you parked before you leave your car. What can you see from your parking spot, and what direction are you facing? If you’re parking near an airport, can you see planes flying above? Parking before a cruise – where is the sea/river compared to where you are? Or for city centre parking, look for tall landmarks, or historical buildings.

  • Colours and symbols
  • Many multi-story car parks have colour-coded levels. Airport car parks also often use colours to designate their different parking zones, just like at London-Luton airport. When in the city centre, check to see if the car park you've chosen has a distinctive logo or P symbol outside it.

  • Check your car park ticket
  • If you took a ticket upon entering the car park, this may have your parking level or zone written on it. If you go in with a bar code or QR code on your phone or a voucher, double check these too in case there are clues.

  • Bay numbers
  • Have you parked your car in a numbered space? If so make a note of this number before you leave the car. Keep an eye out for numbers on the walls, or in the aisles too, as these could indicate what parking zone or level you're on.

  • Use a Meet & Greet service
  • To not only avoid searching for your car when you return, but also to save time when you arrive, why not use Meet & Greet parking. With this service, also known as valet parking, a driver collects your car from you at a set meeting point and takes it to the car park for the duration of your stay. When you return, your car is brought back to you by the driver. This service is often available at ports and airport.

  • And last but not least… pre-book!
  • Pre-booking in advance with ParkVia means a space where you want to park, confirmed by a booking voucher sent to you by email. You can always refer back to this email to check what parking area you chose, and the instructions to find it, helping you find your way. This is why we recommend you choose parking!
