On 30th September 2012 Aer Arann's service between Shannon Airport and Bristol is being suspended for the winter. Aer Arann's parent, Aer Lingus, issued a statement saying that due to poor passenger numbers the service was being suspended, but that the airline remained fully committed to their present at Shannon airport. Developments for other existing lines are being put into place to maximize the potential already present within their activities (Aer Arann still operates routes from Shannon to Manchester, Birmingham, and Rennes in France).
