Knock Airport information
Knock Airport, also known as Ireland West Airport, is the fourth busiest airport in Ireland after Dublin, Cork and Shannon. It was previously known as Knock International Airport, Connaught Regional Airport and Horan International Airport. In 2014, 700,000 passengers used the airport.
Knock Airport is an important transport hub for the West of Ireland and connects the counties of Mayo, Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo with air routes to Dublin, London and mainland Europe. It was opened on 20th May 1986 after a campaign by Monsignor James Horan to provide an airport to service the wider community of the west and northwest of Ireland.
