Ryanair has announced a new service from Ireland West Knock airport, flying weekly to Malaga, in Spain.
Flights will leave Knock Airport every Thursday, with a second flight every Sunday during the busy months of June, July and August. Malaga becomes Ryanair's 13th destination from Knock, and the airport's 6th sunny destination. Flights are also available to Alicante, in Spain; Faro, in Portugal; and the islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzaroe and Tenerife.
Fares for the Malaga route are already on sale for just €19.99 one way excluding taxes and extras, and both Ryanair and Knock Airport hope that the new service will bring an additional 13,000 passengers to the airport over the summer.
The managing director of Knock Airport, Joe Gilmore, spoke of the benefits this brought to the airport, stating "We are delighted to welcome a new service to Malaga with Ryanair as we expand our range of scheduled services to now include the popular Costa Del Sol. Last year over 100,000 passengers flew on Ryanair's services to Spain and Portugal, further strengthening our position as the airport of choice for holidaymakers in the West, North West and Midlands regions and we have no doubt the new Malaga service will prove hugely popular."
