A summer Staycation with ParkCloud

Not going abroad this year? You aren't the only one - 'staycations' are on the rise not just in the UK, but across Europe – a BBC report predicts one in three Germans in 2016 will take their main holiday at home! A 'staycation' is a holiday spent in your own home country, rather than abroad.

Like the sound of a staycation? Don't forget that just because you aren't flying, doesn't mean you won't need to book a parking space. This summer, if you're taking a tour of your own backyard, ParkCloud has plenty of parking spaces across the country you can utilise. Here's a couple of places you could visit this summer as part of your staycation.

Liverpool

Located in the northwest of England, Liverpool is a historic maritime city. From UNESCO world heritage sites, to amazing art galleries to safari parks – the problem won't be what to do, it'll be what to do first. Fancy a spot of shopping? Drop your car off at the Q-Park Liverpool John Lewis and know it's safe in an undercover, city centre location near Liverpool ONE and the Met Quarter. Albert Dock, the Maritime Museum and the Tate Liverpool are also just around the corner.

Edinburgh

Forget the Fringe Festival, there's more to Edinburgh than its comedy. Park at the Q-Park Edinburgh OMNI in the city centre, which is open 24/7 and has CCTV, and you'll be in a prime location to see the sites. The car park is close to many exciting attractions, including the OMNI centre, St James Shopping Centre and is also close by the Waverley Railway Station.

Driving holidays

If you don't like the sound of a staycation but still want to go away this summer, why not take a road trip? All of Europe is just a ferry away, and with ParkCloud's city centre parking options, you'll never be stuck for somewhere to leave the car while you explore. Plan your trip city by city – for example, you could pop to Paris, drop the car at the Garage d’Abbeville Paris City (which is open 24/7) and stroll to the Tour Eiffel and Arc de Triomphe.

From France, the rest of Europe is your oyster. Head to Amsterdam and take advantage of ParkCloud's parking options in the city centre. The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and the Heineken Experience are just a short walk from the Amsterpark Central Station car park, which also includes a fast meet and greet parking service.
