Entry Procedure On arrival, pull up to the barrier and wait up to 10 seconds for the vehicle registration to be scanned and photos to be taken of the vehicle condition. Park the vehicle in one of the arrival lanes and walk to the Summer Special reception building. Please fill in a self-service key label and walk up to the desk where an attendant will ask for the car parking voucher and the vehicle keys which will be exchanged for a receipt. Wait either inside the reception building or just outside at the designated bus stop for the courtesy coach which will take you directly to the North Terminal. Transfer from car park to terminal Free courtesy bus with luggage racks Transfer time to the terminal 10-minute bus transfer, buses every 10-12 minutes Transfer from terminal to car park On landing follow signs for Exit/Car Parks. Exit the terminal on the ground floor, turn left and go to the Summer Special bus stop (no. 2) at the far end of the North Terminal forecourt, where a bus will return you to the parking area. Please check the bus is going to the North Terminal Summer Special Car Park when boarding the bus. Exit Procedure On arrival at the car park, please proceed to Summer Special reception with the receipt received at the time of vehicle drop off. The vehicle keys will then be returned to you with your vehicle parked in a numbered bay close to reception. Pull up to the exit barrier, the camera will recognise the registration number and the barrier will rise. Security measures The car storage areas are manned 24-hours a day and frequently patrolled by trained staff. The sites have CCTV, security lighting and a perimeter security fence. Dropping off was quick and easy but collecting was hideous. We arrived 2.30 am having had a long journey. The staff were overwhelmed and it was chaotic. They said our car was not ready and we would need to wait 20 minutes for it to be delivered from off site parking. The toilets were appalling, blocked and smelly and there was not enough seating. After waiting for 45 minutes I asked the assistant to check a box of miscellaneous keys I had spotted and he found our keys. As I had been waiting for our car to arrive outside I knew it had been ready all along. We were utterly disappointed with the total lack of organisation and felt sorry for the staff as there was clearly not enough assistants to meet the demands.
